Hit the Trails
We have over 15 kilometers of marked and groomed ski trails. Much of our terrain is gentle and winds through the woods, dunes, and Lost Lake allowing you to explore a variety of Muskegon State Park’s natural features. The trails are groomed for skate and classical skiing daily, as conditions dictate, for some of the best gliding and skate skiing in West Michigan. Trails are groomed daily and lighted every night until the park closes.

Easy to Advanced Trails
Our ski trails are well marked, and easy-to-read trail maps are provided with a trail pass. The complex has five different trail systems for all level skiers. Start on an easy, flat trail like the 2.5 kilometer White Night Trail. Our 5 kilometer Lost Lake Trail will take you up on the dune ridge and down to Lost Lake. For a challenge you can work your way up to Spencer's Advanced 2 Kilometer Trail or Verna's Classic Backwoods Trail.
Ski at Night
Our White Night Trail, Pete's Path and Lost Lake Trail are all brightly lighted after sunset.
Classic vs. Skate Cross Country Skiing
We offer two styles of cross country skiing: classic and skate. Most trails are groomed for both styles of skiing, although Verna's trail is designated for classic skiing only. We also offer rental equipment for both styles of skiing.
Classic Style
Classic skiing is recommended for beginner skiers. This style uses a "kick and glide technique" with skis running parallel to one another. We groom parallel tracks into the trail to set your skis in to keep them straight.
Skate Style
Skate skiing is only recommended for skiers who are proficient at classic skiing. This style uses a offset diagonal technique similar to ice skating. We groom the trails with a courdoroy texture and wide lanes for this style of skiing.
Equipment Rentals
We offer Fischer rental skis for both classic and skate skiing. Every ski rental comes with ski boots and poles. We have boot sizes from toddler shoe size 9 to men's size 15. Ski boots should fit snug but comfortable. Our staff will help get you the appropriate size of equipment.
Adaptive Skiing
We have a sit ski equipped with classic cross country skis for anyone who would like to ski but doesn't have lower body mobility. The sit ski will allow you to glide by pushing with the upper body using poles.
